Ehmke Builds AI Fluency Across the Organization

Philadelphia, PA – Ehmke Manufacturing Company, a 96-year-old technical textile manufacturer serving the U.S. military, defense, and aerospace industries, has completed a hands-on generative AI training program designed to build working AI fluency across the entire organization.

Ten Ehmke team members – drawn from sales, finance, operations, quality, and senior leadership – participated in two structured training sessions built around Ehmke’s actual workflows and data. The program was led by Dan Hughes of ClariteeAI in partnership with the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC).

The result: a prioritized roadmap of 22 AI use cases now being evaluated and implemented by Ehmke’s continuous improvement team. Opportunities include smarter shop floor scheduling, tighter inventory and vendor performance tracking, faster customer proposal development, and a longer-term initiative to centralize operational data for AI-assisted decision making.

“We thought it was important to gain an understanding of what AI is, and then get our employees spun up on how we can use it as just another tool to set us apart,” said Bob Rosania, President of Ehmke. “Run to the light. Don’t run away from it.”

The investment reflects Ehmke’s longstanding commitment to continuous improvement – the same philosophy behind its LEAN Manufacturing program, which has driven operational excellence at the company for more than two decades.
