International Dragon Boat Festival
Ehmke Manufacturing Company, Inc. is proud to announce, that the 2009 Ehmke “Make a Difference” Fund has contributed over $15,000 to the St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children and $2,500 to the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Donations continue to arrive and both entities are very appreciative of your generosity. Since the TEAM COTTON DUCKS began competing in the International Dragon Boat Festival in 2007, we have raised over $40,000 in sponsorships and donations for these organizations.
Ehmke Manufacturing Company’s TEAM COTTON DUCKS participated in the 8th Annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival held on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Through the team’s tremendous effort, TEAM COTTON DUCKS posted their Personal Best race time of 2:33.18 winning their 2nd heat; moving the team into the highly competitive Winner’s Bracket for the Final heat. Unfortunately, our luck did not continue in the Finals where the team finished sixth. On a high note, the TEAM COTTON DUCKS t-shirt won 1st Place honors in the T-shirt competition of 156 entries. For all those who attended the Dragon Boat Festival, they enjoyed beautiful weather, wonderful food & drink and endless excitement provided by the 156 paddling teams that competed.
The Ehmke Employees’ “Make a Difference” Fund was established to help support the St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children (SCFC) initiatives; such as, the St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children Injury Prevention Center and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. St. Christopher’s Hospital is a neighborhood 161-bed pediatric hospital providing a wide range of medical & surgical specialties that treat the children of the Greater Philadelphia area and is a tremendous resource for many of our employees. The SCFC was established to further the advancement of research and treatment of childhood illness, to support education and prevention programs that address pediatric health concerns, and to provide patients and their families with personalized, caring support
Industrial Fabrics Foundation (IFF)
The Industrial Fabrics Foundation (IFF) supports the specialty fabrics industry in many different ways. In recent years, the Foundation has provided numerous grants for research projects, public awareness and student development scholarships. This important work is supported by industry members through their generous giving. Ehmke Manufacturing Company, Inc. is a proud contributor to the IFF.
